How to Do Custom Picture Framing

What exactly is Custom Picture Framing? Custom picture Framing is basically a special package which to accentuates, protects and shows off your precious mementos or artwork. Though the literal definition makes it seem easy enough, there are so many intricate details that have to be considered. The type of materials to be used, how to mount them, colors, textures, sizes, number of frames and so on, are some of the questions that need to be answered before the project can be launched. Though this may sound like a complex engineering, with the right help and right tools, you can easily carry out the work without much difficulty.

Some of the common custom picture framing ideas are as follows: Mount the picture on a wooden frame, use wood framing for the front side and metal framing for the back side. For the most part, you should opt for the custom frame, though some people do prefer the use of ready-made frames available in the market. This is mainly because of the fact that the ready-made frames from the market are often a bit heavy and do not look very attractive when mounted on the wall. The advantage of using the custom frame is that they are light in weight and look very attractive indeed.

A very good method to ensure that the framing looks perfect and perfectly fitted is to add some simple overlaps. These overlaps are basically small pieces of plastic which can be bought from the nearest store and are easy to use. When you want to install the custom picture framing, it is wise to choose a matting that is slightly bigger than the original frame. You can either buy some expensive matting or some inexpensive ones, but the important thing is to ensure that the size of the matting is bigger than the original frame so that the overlaps do not show.
